Silencing of Social Conservatives: Democracy Harper's Way!

The prolife community has recently noticed that Conservatives candidates are being forced to refuse to answer questionairres relating to the rights of the unborn, abortion, and other pro-life matters.

As those of you who follow the abortion issue may know these questionairres are a vital part of helping the pro-life community understand the position of the candidates and maximize the chances of having a strong pro-life voice in the House of Commons.

This was evidenced back in the last election when Laurie Hawn reported to Campaign Life, as shown on their site, that he was nervous about answering the questions because he'd been asked not to. Lovely to see a former military fighter nervous about answering constituents questions!!

Mr. Harper is doing a disservice to the people of Canada and to the whole grassroots mentality of the Conservatives when he discourages candidates from being open and transparent about what they believe. There is a moral obligation and it is disturbing to see that the Conservatives do not wish to be accountable to their electorate for their positions.

Please write to the Conservatives and tell them that you believe that Candidates should be accountable and transparent about their voting plans.
